Deborah Hallal Bradt, RYT ~ Biography
Deborah Hallal Bradt has been drawn to the written word since she was a young girl. She was often found carrying around a purple crayon and writing in her diary on the beach where she grew up in Central Florida. Deborah is a Trauma Survivor and has experienced Depression and Chronic Pain much of her adult life. In addition, she has been plagued with anorexia since her college years and has often dealt with self-esteem issues.
As a Lebanese-American
Deborah was often bullied and treated differently than other children her age. Because of this, and many other struggles in her life, she found a deep connection to God and faith in a Higher Power. She uses her writing as a vehicle for healing for herself and others and hopes that some of the poems and essays in her 1st book “Lay Me Down Among the Words”, connects deeply to her readers’ hearts to inspire a sense of wholeness, resiliency and self-compassion.
She graduated from Florida State University in 1993 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and a Minor in Writing & Poetry. In her late twenties, Deborah began teaching and practicing yoga and continues to be fascinated by the mind, body, spirit connection.
Is to spread teach as many people as possible that they deserve to “fly free” no matter what circumstances life gives to them. Deborah is currently working on creating a non-profit organization called “The Purple Butterfly House Foundation” to support those touched by trauma and depression and their families. Part of the proceeds for this book project will go into making that vision a reality. Her ultimate goal is to help prevent the spread of suicide and to teach as many people as possible that the greatest strength and light they have starts from within themselves.
She is also a proud Mother and currently resides in Cleveland, Ohio with her husband, Bill and son, Henry. She is profoundly grateful to Balboa Press for assisting her in her first book project, which is truly a dream come true.
Om Shanti. Shanti. Peace to all beings. Namaste.
